Separate things, connected by attention. Nothing in this mark is a single stroke — it is parts that only become a letter once one connection is drawn.
Every decision here is load-bearing. Change one and the mark stops meaning what it says.
Squares, not dots. A token is a block of text, not a bead — and squares keep their shape at 16px, where circles turn to mush.
The uprights of the H, and the two sides of any attention step: what is being read, and what is being written.
The crossbar is the only connection in the drawing. Six loose squares are not a letter; the link is what makes them one.
Colour sits on the link and the two tokens it touches — never on a whole column. The colour marks what got connected, so it needs no caption.
The mark this replaced carried five colours. This one carries two, because it has one idea to say. Every pair below is measured against the ground it is actually used on — a logo is a graphical object, so the floor is 3.0:1, not 4.5.
#1D1D1F
Ink, on light. The four outer tokens.
#2D8E7E
Accent, on light. The link and the two tokens it joins.
#F2F1EE
Ink, on dark. Not an inversion — see the note below.
#4fae9d
Accent, on dark. Lifted from the light teal so it does not go muddy beside light ink.
The reason is the ink, not the accent. Reuse the light file on a dark ground and #1D1D1F lands at 1.06:1 — the four outer tokens simply vanish, and the mark becomes a floating teal bar.
The accent is the milder case. #2D8E7E on #16181a measures 4.48:1, which passes; it is changed for tone, not legibility. An earlier draft of this page claimed 2.6:1 there. That number was carried over from a different colour and was wrong — it is recorded here because a palette note nobody can check is worth nothing.
The one-colour file is the real test. If the H only reads once the teal is added, the colour is doing the drawing's job.
Two colours, light ground.
Ink flips, accent lifts.
Engraving, print, inline. Inherits the text colour.
One file, both tab themes.
A mark page that only lists virtues is a sales page. These are the three things to weigh against it.
The shape was solved for constraints — legible at 16px, unlike the six routes already rejected — and the meaning was fitted afterwards. That is backwards from how a mark should be born, and it is recorded here rather than tidied away.
No mascot, no feeling, no blur. This is a mark for the lab's method, not its warmth. The teal is the only thread back to Lur, and it is borrowed.
“H is the constant, what follows never ends” — ha, huh, ho, hope, hlur — is still the strongest idea raised for this brand, and this drawing expresses none of it.
